Stardew Valley 100% Perfection Guide — Update 1.6

Perfection is Stardew Valley's true completion goal — a single tracked percentage that folds in shipping, cooking, crafting, fishing, friendship, monster eradication, buildings, and Golden Walnuts into one number, checked on a statue in Qi's Walnut Room on Ginger Island. Update 1.6 changed the checklist meaningfully: new crops, fish, and recipes count toward the total, and a brand-new NPC named Fizz offers a gold-for-percentage shortcut that didn't exist before. This guide breaks down exactly what each category is worth, what's new since 1.6, and the order most players tackle the list in.

01What Perfection Actually Requires

Perfection is tracked as a single percentage made up of eleven weighted categories. Knowing the weights up front helps you prioritize — some categories are worth far more of your time than others:

• 15% — Ship every shippable item at least once (roughly 155 distinct items in the Collections tab's Items Shipped page, post-1.6).
• 11% — Max friendship with every villager (7 hearts for dateable residents, 10 hearts for everyone else — marriage is not required).
• 10% — Purchase and place the Gold Clock on your farm.
• 10% — Complete every Monster Eradication goal at the Adventurer's Guild.
• 10% — Collect all 7 Stardrops.
• 10% — Cook every recipe (81 recipes as of 1.6).
• 10% — Craft every recipe you can learn, excluding the Wedding Ring, which is explicitly exempted from Perfection.
• 10% — Catch every fish, including legendary fish and limited-time catches like the Night Market fish.
• 5% — Reach level 10 in all five skills (Farming, Mining, Foraging, Fishing, Combat).
• 5% — Find all 130 Golden Walnuts on Ginger Island (the first 100 unlock Qi's Walnut Room).
• 4% — Build all four Obelisks.

Buildings alone — the Gold Clock plus the four Obelisks — account for 14% of Perfection and roughly 13,000,000g in total cost, which makes them one of the more purely gold-gated parts of the checklist rather than something that requires skill or luck.

02What's New in Update 1.6

If you last chased Perfection before update 1.6, your old checklist is out of date. The update added 10 new shipping items, 4 new fish (Goby, Sea Jelly, Cave Jelly, and River Jelly), 1 new cooking recipe, and 20 new crafting recipes, all of which now count toward the relevant categories — meaning a save that hit 100% before 1.6 will show less than 100% after updating until you catch up on the new additions. It also introduced Qi's Walnut Room itself as the place you check your percentage, and the Perfection Waiver system covered further down, neither of which existed pre-1.6.

03Golden Walnuts and the Golden Parrot Shortcut

There are 130 Golden Walnuts scattered across Ginger Island, and the Perfection category is worth full credit only once you've found all 130 of them. The first 100 you find unlock Qi's Walnut Room, where the Perfection Tracker statue lives, so walnuts effectively gate your ability to even check your progress toward everything else on this list — but the remaining 30 still count toward your percentage and need to be tracked down for true 100%.

If you're missing a handful of walnuts you simply can't locate, the Golden Joja Parrot west of the volcano will deliver all of your remaining unfound walnuts to you overnight for a fee — roughly 10,000g per missing walnut. It's an expensive last resort rather than a first option (going in blind at 130 missing walnuts would cost 1,300,000g), but it exists specifically so a handful of frustratingly-hidden walnuts don't block your progress indefinitely.

04Shipping, Cooking, and Crafting: The Big Three Collections

These three categories are worth 35% of Perfection combined and are mostly about patience and planning rather than luck:

• Shipping just requires selling one of each item through the shipping bin — you don't need multiples, so a single Ancient Fruit or single Prismatic Shard clears that entry permanently.
• Cooking recipes come from a mix of Queen of Sauce TV broadcasts, friendship-based recipe gifts from villagers, and Ginger Island-specific unlocks — check a recipe tracker periodically so you're not missing a recipe tied to a specific NPC's friendship level.
• Crafting recipes are learned from skill level-ups, Qi's Walnut Room shop, and a handful of quest and bundle rewards. The Wedding Ring recipe is explicitly excluded from the Perfection count, so don't worry about crafting one on a single-player save.

05Friendship, Monster Eradication, and Stardrops

Friendship is a long-term background task more than an active one — 7 hearts for every dateable villager and 10 hearts for everyone else, with no requirement to actually marry anyone. Gifting on birthdays and giving each villager's preferred gifts twice a week is the efficient way to keep every relationship climbing at once rather than focusing on one NPC at a time.

Monster Eradication goals are tracked at the Adventurer's Guild and require clearing every listed goal, not just a few — confirmed totals include 1,000 Slimes, 150 Void Spirits, 200 Bats, 50 Skeletons, and 80 Cave Insects, alongside several other monster categories tracked the same way. These numbers sound enormous but accumulate naturally from regular mine and Skull Cavern runs well before you're actively grinding for them.

Stardrops are the rarest single-item collectible on this list — there are 7 total, tied to specific quests, festivals, and locations rather than random drops, so missing one usually means missing a specific one-time event or purchase rather than bad luck.

06Perfection Waivers — The Joja Shortcut

Update 1.6 added Perfection Waivers, sold by a new Joja Corporation NPC named Fizz. Once you've unlocked Qi's Walnut Room (100 Golden Walnuts) and interacted with the Perfection Tracker statue there for the first time, a letter from Fizz arrives the following day directing you to the Mushroom Cave in the Dig Site, west of Professor Snail's field office. Each Waiver costs 500,000g and adds a flat +1% to your Perfection total, regardless of which category it's technically 'filling in' — buying every Waiver to go from 0% to 100% would cost 50,000,000g, but the price scales down the closer you already are, discounting 500,000g for every percentage point of Perfection you've already earned legitimately.

Waivers don't appear in your inventory — they're tracked directly on the Perfection statue in Qi's Walnut Room, which shows your total percentage alongside how many Waivers you've bought. They're best treated as a way to close out the last few stubborn percentage points (an elusive fish, a monster category you're sick of grinding) rather than a full replacement for playing the checklist.

07What You Get for Reaching 100%

The morning after your save crosses 100%, you get a short message about Grandpa being proud of your farm's legacy, and a rumbling sound in the distance signals that the Summit is now accessible. Visiting it triggers a special sequence featuring every villager, animal, and monster in the game, plus your spouse if you're married. Interacting with the Perfection Tracker statue also unlocks the Statue of True Perfection, a placeable farm decoration that generates one Prismatic Shard per day once placed — a small but genuinely useful reward for players who plan to keep playing well past 100%.
